The lobby of the hotel still with Christmas decorations!!The street right outside the hotel.
Wow, what a beautiful place. Not only is the temperature a balmy 61 degrees at 7:00 tonight but the area is an oasis in a VERY large city. The tree lined stone streets are beautiful. Everyone is so friendly and there are many families who have adopted already here. We ate dinner at Lucy's where David and Scott were able to find grilled cheese and french fries. I was a little more adventureous and had sweet and sour chicken. It was good and not the same as our sweet and sour chicken.
We started the day with all 12 families going to the airport. 5 families, including us got on a plane to Guangzhou. The rest went to different provices and will meet us in Guangzhou on Friday. The flight was about 2 1/2 hours and was fine. Scott and David slept most of the way. Scott is having trouble sleeping at night so any chance he can catch a cat nap is good!
The Victory hotel is very nice. I am typing this on the free computer they have in the room with free internet acess. The room has 2 parts, the sleeping area anda separate area which has a couch and chairs. It will make a great little play area for Sierra.
Our guide for Guangzhou is Allison and she is wonderful!!! Susan in Beijing was super too. Everything is running as smooth as silk!!
Tomorrow at 2:00 we will meet in the lobby and take a bus to the civil affairs office where at 2:30 we will receive Sierra!!! I can not believe the time is finally here. I will post pictures as soon as I can!!! Our love to all of you!!!!

Snow here is really pretty, town is still out plowing, and they cancelled Church this morning- saw Nancy at the Hardware store - Pastor Paul couldn't get out of his driveway. Take Care!

Alan, Tree and boys
By the way the picture you posted "Typical Chinese Driving" isn't too far off from Amercan drivers (refering to Karen and the Vibe)... Love you guys...
I'm so excited for you...I well remember those butterflies!
Our family will be praying for you as you face the huge adjustment and for Sierra who will also have her life turned upside-down. Poor babies...my heart aches for them--there's no way to explain to them what is happening when they're so young. Our adjustment with Ava was pretty severe: she wouldn't walk or talk or eat right for about a week. She grieved severely, but today is a bubbly, happy little girl. Just know you're not alone! Hang in there! Hugs,
Val
Glad to see you guys made it there safe and are having a good time. Kathie are you sure it was chicken??? Scott and Dave you need to try the monkey meat on a stick, nothing better!

Can't wait to see your sweet girl!
Make sure you visit Hebe at Double Happiness. It's across from Star Bucks on the corner...in this tiny little closet-of-a-size store. Only ask for Hebe because nobody else can speak English. If she doesn't have what you want in her tiny store, she will find it for you. She has the best prices on the island. Tell her I said hi.
Can't wait for the next post!!!!
HUGS!!
I'm so happy for you I could cry. Soon you will be home with your little girl. I can't wait to see her and I bet you can't wait to get home. its nice being in a foreign country but its so good to get home.
Good Luck,
See you soon
Genny
